Basic Information about Products with Tadalafil

Active Ingredient

The active ingredient, tadalafil (for more information about the active ingredient, refer to the article on Tadalafil), significantly promotes blood circulation to the penis, aiding in achieving a firm, high-quality, and long-lasting erection necessary for successful sexual intercourse.

Dosage and Administration

The usual dose is 5-20 mg once daily, a recommended starting dose is 10 mg. Do not exceed the maximum daily dose of 20 mg. Depending on tolerability, the dose can be reduced to 5 mg. 

Vidalista 20 mg and Tadalis 20 mg tablets should be taken whole, not chewed, and swallowed with a small amount of water. One sachet of Apcalis Oral Jelly also contains 20 mg of tadalafil. It is very easy to use: you squeeze the contents of the sachet directly into your mouth, all without the need for water.

Tadalis and Vidalista 20 should be taken 30–60 minutes before sexual activity, while Apcalis Oral Jelly 20 mg should be taken 10–15 minutes before sexual activity. Their effect lasts up to 36 hours.

None of these products are aphrodisiacs. Sexual stimulation is essential to achieve the desired effect.

Products with tadalafil may be taken before or after meals. It should not be combined with alcohol, grapefruit, or grapefruit juice. Contraindications 

Do not take products with tadalafil, if you:

• are allergic to tadalafil or any other component of this medication
• have recently experienced a cerebrovascular accident (stroke), heart attack, or if you have low or high blood pressure
• take nitrates (such as nitroglycerin, isosorbide dinitrate) or nitric oxide-releasing medications (such as isoamyl nitrite)
• use medications for angina pectoris (such as nitrates or nitrogen oxide).
• have a severe heart or liver disorder
• have a rare retinal disorder (such as retinitis pigmentosa) or experience vision loss due to non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy (NAION)
• take riociguat (for the treatment of pulmonary arterial hypertension and chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension)
• take alpha-blockers used for high blood pressure or to treat urinary symptoms associated with benign prostatic hyperplasia
• take protease inhibitors for the treatment of AIDS or HIV infection
• already take another medication for erectile dysfunction.

Warning

Consult your doctor before starting any medications containing tadalafil if you have experienced:

• heart problems
• Peyronie's disease or any other penile deformity
• ulcer disease or bleeding issues (such as hemophilia)
• intolerance to certain sugars (e.g., lactose)
• sickle cell anemia, leukemia, or multiple myeloma

For patients with severe kidney dysfunction, the maximum recommended dose is 10 mg.

Concurrent use of products with tadalafil with other medications requires approval from your treating physician, especially if you are taking ritonavir, saquinavir, ketoconazole, itraconazole, or erythromycin.

Possible Side Effects of the Medication

During the use of tadalafil-based medications, side effects may occur. They are usually mild to moderate in nature and often have a short duration. The most commonly reported side effects include headache, nausea, digestive difficulties, facial flushing, hot flashes, vision disturbances (blurred vision or so-called blue vision), memory problems, nasal congestion, and dizziness.

Important Warning

If you experience sudden deterioration of vision, hearing impairment, blood in urine, cloudy urine, or an erection lasting more than 4 hours, particularly if it is not caused by sexual stimulation and is accompanied by pain, seek medical assistance immediately.
